The European Day of Foundations and Donors is an event whose ambition is to motivate the public to support organizations, whether it is through donations, volunteer work, or other types of support. The European Day of Foundations and Donors has been celebrated every year on October 1st. This is the second year Croatia will join the event, and this time by organizing Philanthopy week, with the central event in Zadar.
You Eat, We Give is a global campaign of the Marriott group, which will be held in Belgrade in September and October - during the two months, a euro from each lunch sold at the hotel will be given to SOS Children's village (SOS Dečija sela), and invested into supporting the young people that the SOS villages are taking care of.
In the last year, clients of Sberbank Serbia have collected EUR8,500 (RSD1,000,000) through donation boxes placed in all their branch offices in the country to help build a pediatric hemato-oncology department in Niš. NURDOR’s campaign I ja se borim (I am fighting too) got the support through a cooperation with the bank, which will last for another year, until the completion of the department.
On September 8th, a group of girl scouts held a biscuit fair in Fier, first of its kind in Albania. The initiative was supported by Epoka e Re Association which will finance a girl camp intended to empower young women and increase their participation in various extracurricular activities.
Fight Violence Against Girls Through Education is the name of Serbia’s Center for Girls fundraising campaign hosted on the GlobalGiving platform. Until the end of September, they are trying to raise USD5,000 and 40 donors, to secure a permanent spot on the platform. Help them reach their goal, which would enable them to continue working on seminars and theater for empowering girls and young women.
For their first anniversary in Mostar, company SiM Impex has supported project Formula student SAE of students of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science at Unversity of Mostar. Students got Sach shock absorbers worth EUR5,000 (KM10,000) for the racing car they are making.
At 2 successful fundraising events in Budva (Montenegro), both for the reconstructions and renewal of 2 monasteries with a very rich and long history, they raised EUR121,000. The first event was held on August 27 and it raised over EUR53,000 for the reconstruction of Sveta Trojica Monastery. Second event was organized on September 9 for the renewal of Podlastva Grbaljska Monastery and it raised even more - EUR68,000.
Kovačić and Spaić Agency, from Belgrade, Serbia, chose to support and fund a two-day festival dedicated to all parents, those who want to become parents and professionals from the field. The event will take place at KC Grad in Belgrade, on 16th and 17th of September and will host multiple workshops, discussion panels and useful lectures.
For the first day of school, Lidl has donated welcoming bags to 522 first graders from 25 schools from underdeveloped areas. In order to make their first day at school special, Lidl representatives personally handed bags with school supplies and snacks to first graders in Darda, while pupils from other schools got bags on the same day.
In a laudable gesture, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s most profitable company uses their birthday celebration funds to help three local associations who help children with disabilities. The money will be used to help Association of parents of children and people with disabilities of Tuzla Canton, Youth association Dobro delo (A good deed) from Sarajevo and Public institution for care of mentally disabled children and youth Pazarić.
